This is
Pocket Full of Posey

She was rescued from a puppy mill breeder in October of 2008
along with 27 other dogs!
The day we got there to pick up the dogs there was a pen full of dogs. The ones in the worst shape stuck out! Posey could not really walk on her back legs and I assumed she had a bad back! The breeder said she had been like that for a few years since her last litter and she could not afford to take her to the vet! Which is B.S. she made all kinds of money off the puppies she had been breeding!
We decided not to take her!
Well once we got all the dogs loaded and into the van I turned around to realize that she was the only one left and was looking for her pals. She ran into the dog house and back out several times!
IT BROKE MY HEART!
We took her and I was determined to help this sweet little girl!
A HUGE THANKS TO SHANNON who works at Paso Pet Care because she took her in for an exam!
The vet said that it was not her a back but her hips! They had come out of the socket and she was in pain. This damn woman had let her walk around in pain for years! This dog had been breed over and over and lived no life of love or happiness and she did not even care enough to get her care!
There was no fixing her and knowing that she was in pain tore me up!
We were on our way home with the second load of dogs when Shannon called me and told me the news! I was devastated and honestly could not even think I was sick! Knowing that this poor sweet dog could still wag her tails and eat and even sit in my lap and kiss me when
she was hurting really sank in!
I realized I had to do the right thing and send her to the
bridge and out of pain! My mother had to call Shannon back and ask her if she could take her back to the vet and put her down! I would not be home in time and it was a Friday! Making her wait any longer was not fair!
I did not get to say good bye but I hope she knows that I loved her a lot and even though we only spent 3 days together she is a special girl and will never ever ever be forgotten!
Paula in our Dachshund group helped pay for her to be cremated and she is our official rescue angel! She attends our fund raisers
and all of our adoption events!
POSEY I LOVE YOU MISS YOU AND I AM SO SORRY I COULD NOT HAVE SAVED YOU SOONER! I HOPE ONE DAY WE WILL MEET AGAIN AND I CAN HAVE SOME OF THOSE SWEET KISSES AGAIN!
